Who is the Programme for?
The AI Academy is a 23-week programme for ambitious, digitally established publishers across EMEA who are ready to move beyond isolated AI experiments and embed AI at the core of their business strategy.
Over six months, participants undertake an AI-readiness audit, design a long-term AI roadmap, and deliver a capstone project that tests or scales a key element of their strategy.
The journey begins with a comprehensive assessment of current capabilities across technical, operational and commercial dimensions, helping to identify the foundations required to scale AI responsibly. These insights are then translated into a prioritised roadmap aligned with strategic goals, governance frameworks and investment plans.
In the final phase, participants enter a focused sprint to test part of the roadmap. This may involve scaling an existing initiative, redesigning a workflow, or piloting an AI-first product.
Throughout the programme, they are supported by FT Strategies consultants and inspired by expert sessions with Google, the Financial Times and peers from across the industry.

What is the outcome?
Publishers will leave with:
- A comprehensive AI-readiness audit benchmarking current capabilities and identifying key gaps
- A strategic roadmap outlining a long term path to scale and adopt AI across the business
- Launching a capstone project that tests or scales elements of the long term AI Roadmap
- A tailored governance and change management framework to ensure responsible and effective AI adoption
- Ecosystem visibility and peer learning opportunities, including participation in regional symposiums, alumni mixers
